The first look at the Fab Four’s transformation is here.
Sony Pictures has unveiled first-look images from ‘The Beatles — A Four-Film Cinematic Event,’ director Sam Mendes‘ ambitious project that will unpack the legendary band’s story from the perspective of each member. The images, distributed via postcards at the Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts (co-founded by Paul McCartney), reveal Paul Mescal as McCartney, Barry Keoghan as Ringo Starr, Joseph Quinn as George Harrison, and Harris Dickinson as John Lennon.
The groundbreaking project marks the first time The Beatles and Apple Corps Ltd. have authorized the use of the band members’ life stories and music in scripted films. All four movies will receive full theatrical releases in April 2028, with Sony Pictures financing and distributing worldwide.
Mendes is directing from scripts written by Jez Butterworth, Peter Straughan, and Jack Thorne. The ensemble also features Mia McKenna-Bruce as Maureen Starkey, Saoirse Ronan as Linda McCartney, Anna Sawai as Yoko Ono, and Aimee Lou Wood as Pattie Boyd, with supporting turns from David Morrissey, Leanne Best, James Norton, Harry Lloyd, Bobby Schofield, Daniel Hoffmann-Gill, Arthur Darvill, and Adam Pally.
The films are a collaboration between Sony Pictures Entertainment and Mendes’ Neal Street Productions, produced by the director alongside Pippa Harris, Julie Pastor, and Alexandra Derbyshire, in association with Apple Corps.
