Peacock is clearly betting big on The Paper.
The workplace comedy, which serves as a spinoff of ‘The Office’ universe, has officially been renewed for Season 2, before Season 1 has premiered.
Created by Greg Daniels, the mastermind behind the U.S. version of ‘The Office’, the series follows a new set of characters working at a struggling local newspaper in the digital age. Fans can expect the same dry humour and awkward hilarity that made Dunder Mifflin a household name, but with a fresh setting (and plenty of new workplace chaos).
The early renewal signals Peacock’s confidence that the series will resonate with audiences — much like The Office, which has become one of the most-streamed shows of all time.
Season 1 of ‘The Paper’ premieres September 4, with Season 2 already locked and loaded.
