One door closes, another opens in Palm Beach.
E! officially announced Tuesday that Dorinda Medley is joining the cast of ‘The Golden Life,’ stepping in after Jill Zarin was fired last week following her racist rant about Bad Bunny‘s Super Bowl halftime performance. She’ll join Countess Luann de Lesseps, Sonja Morgan, Ramona Singer, and Kelly Bensimon when the show begins filming in Palm Beach this spring.
Medley, who joined ‘The Real Housewives of New York City’ in its seventh season, became an instant fan favorite, known for iconic one-liners and unforgettable moments at her Berkshires estate, Blue Stone Manor. She said of the news:
“Well, the rumors are true! I will be joining the women on ‘The Golden Life’ in Palm Beach. After decades of friendship, and navigating life’s ups and downs together, it will be nice to reconnect with my ‘sisters.’ I am so excited to celebrate and share the next chapter of our lives!”
Meanwhile, the Zarin fallout has continued to spiral. After getting fired, she embarked on a media blitz with sources close to her telling Page Six that E! “completely overreacted” and that “if they’d waited a week, it would have been fine.” Zarin herself told In Touch: “I took it down right away. People make mistakes. I’m human.” The drama reached peak chaotic when her step-grandson did an AMA on Reddit, exposing why his side of the family no longer has a relationship with Zarin, and confirming she (not the network) had invited Bravo’s cameras to her late husband Bobby’s funeral.
Medley has stayed busy since her ‘RHONY’ departure after Season 12, appearing on two seasons of ‘The Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip’ and two seasons of ‘The Traitors’ on Peacock, most recently being eliminated on the February 12 episode. ‘The Golden Life’ is produced by Blink49 Studios with Tara Long, Nadine Rajabi, Mark Ford, and Ben Megargel executive producing.
