Awards season has officially hit its biggest moment yet. The Oscars 2026 nominations are in, setting the stage for what is shaping up to be one of the most wide-ranging and conversation-starting Academy Awards races in recent memory.
Leading the charge is ‘Sinners’, the cultural lightning rod that emerged as this year’s most nominated film with a history-making 16 nods. Among them are major acting mentions for Michael B. Jordan and Delroy Lindo, alongside Best Picture and Best Director recognition for Ryan Coogler. The film’s dominance positions it as the clear awards-season frontrunner.
Elsewhere, the acting races are stacked with both prestige favorites and mainstream heavy-hitters. ‘One Battle After Another’ scored key nominations, including a Best Supporting Actress nod for Teyana Taylor, while big studio titles like ‘Avatar’, ‘F1’, and ‘Jurassic World Rebirth’ made their presence felt across technical categories.
From indie dramas like ‘Hamnet’ and ‘Sentimental Value’ to animated crowd-pleasers such as ‘Zootopia 2’, the nominations reflect a year where artistic ambition and box office muscle comfortably shared the spotlight. The ceremony itself airs live on March 15 on ABC.
Here is the full list of nominees exactly as announced for the 98th Annual Academy Awards.
