New year, new hints. Melanie C, better known as Mel C, set tongues wagging as she welcomed 2026 with both a high-energy performance and a tantalising tease about the future of the Spice Girls.
Speaking during ABC’s New Year’s Eve coverage in Sydney, Australia, the Sporty Spice icon reflected on the group’s legacy ahead of their upcoming milestone. 2026 marks 30 years since the release of ‘Wannabe’ and the band’s debut album ‘Spice,’ and Mel C made it clear the anniversary should not go unnoticed.
She told presenter Zan Rowe:
“I’m so proud to be a Spice Girl and it would be lovely to celebrate that in some way.”
The comments came just hours before her headline set on Sydney Harbour, where Mel C dazzled in a custom Palm Angels tracksuit while performing a crowd-pleasing medley that included ‘2 Become 1’, ‘Say You’ll Be There’ and ‘Spice Up Your Life’.
She also performed her own solo hit ‘Never Be The Same Again.’
