‘Heartstopper’ remains firmly on fans’ minds as its creator offers a candid update on the story’s final chapter. Alice Oseman has shared fresh insight into the progress of ‘Heartstopper Forever’, the upcoming Netflix film that will bring the beloved series to a close.
Taking to Instagram ahead of the end of the year, Oseman revealed the film is still in post-production, admitting the process has left them feeling both excited and anxious.
The movie will wrap up the love story between Charlie Spring and Nick Nelson, played by Joe Locke and Kit Connor, and is currently slated for release on Netflix in 2026.
Explaining the silence around new footage, Oseman said:
“I know many of you are impatient for updates, but we can’t share anything from the film yet because it’s still not quite finished… I want you to have a spoiler-free experience.”
They confirmed picture editing is almost complete, with animation, visual effects and music now underway. Dubbing in multiple languages will follow before promotion ramps up.
“I’m very nervous and scared about what you’ll think of it… but 2026 will be a big year for Heartstopper.”
