One of television’s most acclaimed dramas is heading into its final chapter. ‘The Bear’ will officially end with its upcoming fifth season on FX,
Deadline reports. Jeremy Allen White, Ayo Edebiri, and Ebon Moss-Bachrach will all return for the send-off.
The news isn’t entirely surprising. Season 4 ended with White’s Carmy Berzatto announcing his departure from the restaurant, a narrative turn that telegraphed an endpoint was near. Creator Christopher Storer had reportedly always envisioned the story wrapping around this point, with White having previously noted the original plan was to close things out after Season 4. The fifth season was greenlit in July and is expected to premiere later this year.
Jamie Lee Curtis effectively broke the news early, posting on Instagram alongside co-star Abby Elliott. She wrote:
“FINISHED STRONG! Completing the story of this extraordinary family that we have all fallen in love with.”
Since its 2022 debut, the show has been an awards circuit fixture, taking home the Emmy for Outstanding Comedy Series in 2023. Season 5 will mark the end of the line.
