A captivating trailer has arrived for ‘The Bride!’ – Maggie Gyllenhaal‘s bold reimagining of the classic horror tale.
The filmmaker’s updated takehas unveiled its latest look, offering a wildly stylized glimpse at the 1930s Chicago-set thriller starring Jessie Buckley and Christian Bale as monstrous lovers on the run.
The film reimagines ‘The Bride of Frankenstein’ with Bale playing Frankenstein (the monster, given his creator’s name) and Buckley as his proposed mate. When the two become unlikely partners in crime, they embark on a romance-fueled rampage of dancing, driving, and lawlessness.
The fresh look of the film’s ambitious vision, complete with a Florence & The Machine needledrop, big ballsy dance numbers under nightclub lights, and the pair channeling serious Bonnie & Clyde energy.
The film also stars Jake Gyllenhaal, Peter Sarsgaard, and Penélope Cruz.

The official synopsis reads:
“A lonely Frankenstein (Bale) travels to 1930s Chicago to ask groundbreaking scientist Dr. Euphronious (five-time Oscar nominee Annette Bening) to create a companion for him. The two revive a murdered young woman and The Bride (Buckley) is born. What ensues is beyond what either of them imagined: Murder! Possession! A wild and radical cultural movement! And outlaw lovers in a wild and combustible romance!”
