Richard Gere is headed to Apple TV. The veteran actor has joined the cast of the streamer’s upcoming limited series ‘The Off Weeks,’ which stars Jessica Chastain and Ben Stiller.
Per Deadline, the ‘Chicago’ alum will play Jonathan in the eight-episode thriller. Plot specifics about his character remain under wraps, but he joins an already buzzy ensemble that includes Arian Moayed and Annaleigh Ashford.
‘The Off Weeks’ follows recently divorced writing professor Gus Adler (Stiller), whose life spirals after his marriage ends. While he’s barely keeping it together during custody weeks with his kids, his child-free weeks bring a dangerous entanglement with the mysterious Stella West (Chastain). It’s a collision course that puts everything on the line.
Michael Showalter directs the series, with Alissa Nutting serving as showrunner. The project marks Stiller’s latest collaboration with the streamer, following his Emmy-winning work on ‘Severance.’
As of writing, there’s no word on a premiere date for ‘The Off Weeks.’
