Buzz around Hudson Williams hasn’t slowed since ‘Heated Rivalry’ was officially renewed, but fans hoping for a quick turnaround on Season 2 may need to brace themselves.
The breakout star recently stopped by Andy Cohen’s SiriusXM show and didn’t hold back when asked why the next chapter of the HBO hit could be a long way off.
Host Cohen asked:
“Why, if it took 30-something days to shoot Season 1, why do we have to wait so long for Season 2? I don’t get it. Because it’s 2027. Yeah, what the f***, talk to him. Any idea?”
Responding, Williams said:
“There’s books. You know, this season adapted two books. What Jacob Tierney does for Season 2, I don’t know. Right. This killed him. I think what people don’t know is he was giving in final cuts of the episodes two days before they screened. I called him recently and asked how he was doing, and he sounded like a ghoul. He said the show killed him. I had to hang up. It wasn’t fun.”

The comments shine a light on just how intense the production process was behind the scenes, particularly for creator Tierney.
The series, which also stars Connor Storrie, has exploded in popularity and has elevated buzz after its December season 2 renewal.
For now, its sophomore run remains on the horizon, and patience appears to be the price of ambition.
