Crime drama favorite ‘Will Trent’ is officially clocking back in, with the ABC series returning to screens next week after a long wait for fans.
The buzzy show, led by Ramon Rodriguez, has steadily carved out its own lane thanks to its emotionally grounded storytelling and sharp character work.
Based on the bestselling novels by Karin Slaughter, the show centers on Special Agent Will Trent of the Georgia Bureau of Investigation, whose traumatic upbringing in Atlanta’s foster care system continues to shape both his instincts and his vulnerabilities on the job.
That complicated inner world sits front and center again in the newly released trailer, which teases renewed danger and unfinished business.
Season 4 kicks off five months after the devastating attack on the GBI, when a figure from Will’s past escapes prison. The fallout forces him to defy direct orders, reopening old wounds while threatening the fragile sense of stability he has fought to rebuild. The tension is amplified by the return of James Ulster, played by Greg Germann, whose presence spells serious trouble.
Returning alongside Rodriguez are Erika Christensen, Iantha Richardson, Jake McLaughlin, Sonja Sohn, Kevin Daniels, and Margaret Cho as fan-favorite Dr. Roach.
‘Will Trent’ Season 4 premieres Tuesday, January 6 at 8pm ET/PT on ABC, with episodes streaming the next day on Hulu.
