The first trailer for ‘Ella McCay’ has landed, delivering a peek at the sharp, heartfelt new comedy from Oscar-winning filmmaker James L. Brooks.
Led by Emma Mackey, the film follows an ambitious young woman balancing her chaotic family life with rising political ambitions. Billed as a story about “the people you love and how to survive them,” the film promises a blend of comedy and heart in true Brooks fashion.
Mackey forms the center of a stacked, star-studded ensemble cast that includes Jamie Lee Curtis, Jack Lowden, Kumail Nanjiani, Ayo Edebiri, Rebecca Hall, Julie Kavner, Becky Ann Baker, Albert Brooks, and Woody Harrelson.
Written and directed by Brooks, who is known for classics like ‘Broadcast News’ and ‘Terms of Endearment,’ the film marks his return to the big screen with a fresh, generational twist.
‘Ella McCay’ arrives in theaters on December 12 via 20th Century Studios.
