After over a decade of drama, fist pumps, and GTL, the ‘Jersey Shore’ era on MTV is coming to an end. But don’t count the crew out just yet.
TMZ reports the network has passed on Season 9 of ‘Jersey Shore: Family Vacation,’ effectively ending the show’s run on the cable staple. No official reason has been given, though the timing is notable. MTV’s parent company, Paramount, is currently in the middle of a sweeping restructuring following its blockbuster agreement last week to acquire Warner Bros. for $111 billion.
The cast, for their part, seem far from finished. A video obtained by TMZ shows the show’s core stars speaking directly to fans, teasing that more is on the way. The clip closes with a message that reads:
“Stay tuned to see what’s next. This fam lives forever.”
Legends don’t retire — they reroute. The network changed. The legacy didn’t. Jersey Shore is forever. Just wait until you see what’s next ❤️ pic.twitter.com/BZFHBK3ro6

The original ‘Jersey Shore’ ran from 2009 to 2012 and spawned a string of spin-offs including ‘Snooki & JWoww,’ ‘The Pauly D Project,’ and ‘Double Shot at Love,’ before ‘Family Vacation’ brought the gang back together. Where they land next remains to be seen.
