David Beckham has seemingly responded to son Brooklyn Beckham’s scathing Instagram statement with carefully chosen words about parenting and social media.
Speaking on CNBC’s ‘Squawk Box’ Tuesday at the World Economic Forum in Davos, the 50-year-old soccer legend appeared to indirectly address his eldest son’s explosive allegations without naming him directly. When asked about young people and social media use, the father of four delivered what many are interpreting as a pointed message.
“I’ve tried to do the same with my children, to educate them. They make mistakes. Children are allowed to make mistakes. That’s how they learn. So that’s what I try to teach my kids. But you know, you have to sometimes let them make those mistakes as well.”

The comments came less than 24 hours after Brooklyn posted a six-page statement accusing his parents of controlling him, sabotaging his marriage to Nicola Peltz Beckham, and prioritizing “Brand Beckham” over family. Earlier that same day, the Inter Miami co-owner had refused to answer direct questions from Sky News about the family rift.
Reps for the Beckhams have not issued an official statement.
