Nicole ‘Snooki’ Polizzi is putting on a brave face while facing a scary diagnosis.
The ‘Jersey Shore’ star confirmed Thursday she’s been diagnosed with stage 1 cervical cancer. In an emotional TikTok video, she brought fans along to doctor’s appointments and shared the results of her recent biopsy.
“My results came back from my biopsy, and it came back stage 1 cervical cancer called adenocarcinoma or something,” she said. “Obviously not the news I’ve been hoping for. But also not the WORST news. Just because they caught it so early, thank freaking God!”
She urged fans to “get your pap smears done,” revealing she’s been struggling with abnormal pap smears for three to four years. “I’m 38 years old… and look at me. Instead of putting it off because I didn’t want to go, because I was hurt and scared, I just went and did it. And it was there, cancer is in there, but it’s stage 1 and it’s curable.”
The reality star shared she had a cone biopsy done with clear margins, suggesting the cancer didn’t spread into the cervix. She’s undergoing a PET scan next to check if it spread elsewhere, and will be having a hysterectomy rather than chemotherapy. Her ‘Jersey Shore’ co-star Sammi Giancola commented: “The strongest woman, love you!”
