Nintendo has officially set the record straight on the long-debated dynamic between Mario and Princess Peach.
Using its Nintendo Today app to (re)define their status:
“Princess Peach and Mario are good friends and help each other out whenever they can.”
So there it is.
The company stressed that despite all the heroics, Mario and Peach are not in a romantic relationship. Their bond stays firmly in the realm of friendship and mutual support.
The clarification comes after decades of in-game moments fueling romance rumors – from ‘Super Mario Odyssey’s ambiguous ending to ‘Mario Party’ shoutouts labeling them the “cutest couple.”
Still, Nintendo maintains there’s no confirmed romantic connection.
