The new cast of ‘Vanderpump Rules’ is here to stay.
Bravo has already renewed the reality show for season 13, despite season 12 still airing, TMZ reports.
Sources connected to the show say the first season since the reboot has performed so well on Bravo and Peacock that the network jumped on an early renewal, which isn’t standard timing.
The news is great for the current cast (led by Lisa Vanderpump), all of whom are expected to return alongside new faces currently being cast. It’s even better for the network, which might have been worried given the tepid reaction early in season 12. The show received some negative reviews from fans who missed the OGs, with one prominent publication even calling it “Bravo’s losing bet.”
The ‘Vanderpump Rules’ team decided on a reboot after season 11 for several reasons, chief among them being the new cast, mainly Gen Zers, are at a different and messier place in life. Plus, while “Scandoval” helped ratings, it didn’t help on-set relationships, and some stars simply no longer wanted to film together.
The season 12 finale and reunion are coming out over the next few weeks, with production on season 13 set to begin in April.
