DC Studios just gave fans their first real look at ‘Supergirl’ during the Super Bowl.
The studio debuted a new teaser trailer Sunday for the upcoming film starring Milly Alcock as Superman’s cousin, Kara Zor-El. The clip takes viewers back to Krypton before its destruction, showing how Kara first met Krypto the Superdog when her home planet was still thriving.
“Krypton didn’t die in a day,” she says in voiceover. “The gods are not that kind.”
The teaser also highlights what sets her apart from her more famous cousin Kal-El. “He sees the good in everyone, and I see the truth,” she emphasizes, suggesting a grittier, more cynical take on the superheroine.
Directed by Craig Gillespie, the film hits theaters om June 26. The cast also includes Matthias Schoenaerts, Eve Ridley, David Krumholtz, Emily Beecham, and Jason Momoa. DC Studios heads Peter Safran and James Gunn are producing.
