Steven Spielberg is heading back to extraterrestrial territory.
Universal Pictures unveiled the first full-length trailer for ‘Disclosure Day’ during Super Bowl 2026, marking the legendary director’s return to the alien-themed space he dominated with classics like ‘Close Encounters of the Third Kind,’ ‘E.T.,’ and ‘War of the Worlds.’
The sci-fi thriller hits theaters June 12.
Watch the latest tease:
The plot has been kept largely under wraps, but the logline teases: “If you found out we weren’t alone, if someone showed you, proved it to you, would that frighten you? This summer, the truth belongs to seven billion people. We are coming close to … Disclosure Day.”
The first teaser, released back in December, showed Emily Blunt as a weather girl struggling to hold it together while becoming possessed by some unseen entity. The Super Bowl spot expands on that chaos, revealing whatever’s happening has the attention of wild animals and nuns alike.
The cast also includes Josh O’Connor, Colin Firth, Eve Hewson, and Colman Domingo. Spielberg conceived the story with longtime collaborator David Koepp penning the screenplay. The duo previously worked together on ‘Jurassic Park,’ ‘The Lost World: Jurassic Park,’ ‘War of the Worlds,’ and ‘Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull.’
Spielberg also produced alongside Kristie Macosko Krieger under their Amblin Entertainment banner. ‘Disclosure Day’ marks his first film since 2022’s semi-autobiographical ‘The Fabelmans,’ which scored seven Oscar nominations.
