Ben Affleck and Matt Damon are back in crime-thriller mode in Netflix’s ‘The Rip’, and the newly released trailer makes one thing clear: once the money shows up, the trust disappears.
The film drops globally on January 16, with Joe Carnahan directing and writing.
The logline is pure pressure cooker. A team of Miami cops discovers millions in cash inside a derelict stash house, and the moment outside forces catch wind, paranoia starts tearing the crew apart.
Alongside Affleck and Damon, the cast includes Steven Yeun, Teyana Taylor, Sasha Calle, Catalina Sandino Moreno, plus Scott Adkins and Kyle Chandler.
Damon teased the ticking-clock chaos in comments to Tudum:
“In Miami, you have to count the money on-site… They’re on the clock, and they have to start thinking of defending where they are because they can’t just leave.”
Affleck summed up the film’s core dilemma:
“It begs the question: What do you do when faced with this massive temptation… who do you trust?”
