Meghan Trainor has welcomed her third child, a baby girl, via surrogate.
The Grammy winner announced the arrival of daughter Mikey Moon Trainor on Instagram today, revealing she was born January 18.
The 33-year-old shared a carousel of emotional photos from the hospital, including one capturing her tearful first skin-to-skin contact with her newborn.
She wrote:
“Our baby girl Mikey Moon Trainor has finally made it to the world thanks to our incredible, superwoman surrogate. We are forever grateful to all the doctors, nurses, teams who made this dream possible.”
The post continued:
“We had endless conversations with our doctors in this journey and this was the safest way for us to be able to continue growing our family. We are over the moon in love with this precious girl.”
Mikey joins big brothers Riley, 4, and Barry, 2, who Trainor shares with husband Daryl Sabara. The couple, married since 2018, gave the boys naming rights for their sister’s middle name, with the tots choosing “Moon.”
The announcement comes as a surprise to fans, as Trainor hadn’t publicly shared she was expecting via surrogate. The singer previously welcomed both Riley and Barry via cesarean section and has been open about experiencing gestational diabetes during pregnancy.
Trainor has her seventh studio album, ‘Toy With Me,’ slated for April 24 and kicks off her Get In Girl Tour in June.
