As ‘Heated Rivalry’ continues to turn first-time viewers into full-blown fans, its breakout stars are reflecting on what made the on-screen chemistry click. For Hudson Williams, much of that growth came from working closely with co-star Connor Storrie, whose approach to acting has left a lasting impression.
Speaking with Timid, Williams opened up about how watching Storrie work has sharpened his own craft.
“He’s so incredibly present and so incredibly truthful. As an actor, it’s so much easier to think of what you should be doing or what you think would be an entertaining version of this, or the most dramatic version, or making sure you’re hitting lines properly or doing the scene the way the director wants.”
That level of presence, he explained, often unlocks moments he never anticipates.
“Just actually listening to the person and letting what they’re saying affect you -Connor is so good at that. There are so many moments where the script says he does one thing, and he does something so unexpectedly emotional or vulnerable that it completely shifts the scene.”
Williams went on to describe how that energy pushes him to stay grounded.
“Even if I’m being robotic and just going through a scene, he can crack me and change my trajectory. He makes my job way easier because he makes me be present. That’s his superpower.”
Off camera, their bond is just as close, complete with plenty of affectionate nicknames.
“He calls me Huddy, Papi, Bubba, Baby. I call him Pookie. I used to call him Pookie a lot. Papi. Con Con. I call him that in texts and verbally.”
The duo’s creative partnership is set to continue into the New Year, with one final episode of their ‘Ember & Ice’ audio series still on the way.
