Black Panther is back, and Wakanda is joining the fight in ‘Avengers: Doomsday.’
A new teaser for the highly anticipated Marvel crossover has dropped online after playing before ‘Avatar: Fire and Ash’ screenings, and it puts the spotlight on the kingdom and its heroes. Letitia Wright‘s Shuri, who took on the Black Panther mantle after Chadwick Boseman‘s passing, returns with some heavy narration reflecting on her losses.”I’ve lost everyone that matters to me. A king has his duties, to prepare our people for the afterlife. I have mine,” she says in the trailer.

Shuri lost both her brother T’Challa and mother Queen Ramonda (Angela Bassett) in 2022’s ‘Black Panther: Wakanda Forever,’ making her journey in ‘Doomsday’ all the more personal.
The teaser also confirms Winston Duke‘s M’Baku as King of Wakanda after he challenged Shuri for the throne at the end of ‘Wakanda Forever.’ He shares a humorous moment with the Fantastic Four’s Thing (Ebon Moss-Bachrach), who introduces himself as “Ben. Yancy Street between Broome and Grand.”
Tenoch Huerta‘s Namor also appears in his black, comic-accurate suit alongside cousin Namora (Mabel Cadena), suggesting the Talokans may join forces with Wakanda against Robert Downey Jr.‘s Doctor Doom.
‘Avengers: Doomsday’ hits theaters globally on December 18.
