Things are officially spiraling out of control in the newly released final trailer for Jack Black and Paul Rudd’s jungle-set chaos fest. With its last preview now out, ‘Anaconda’ is making it clear audiences should expect a wild blend of creature horror and self-aware comedy when it hits theaters later this month.
The final trailer leans heavily into the absurd premise, following lifelong best friends Doug and Griff as they chase a midlife dream of remaking their favorite childhood movie. What starts as a misguided passion project deep in the Amazon quickly turns deadly once a very real, very massive anaconda enters the picture. Panic sets in, egos clash, and the movie they are desperate to make threatens to become the one that ends them.
The film also stars Steve Zahn, Thandiwe Newton, Daniela Melchior, and Selton Mello, rounding out a cast that appears hilariously ill-equipped for what the jungle throws at them.
Directed by Tom Gormican and co-written with Kevin Etten, ‘Anaconda’ is based on the original screenplay by Hans Bauer, Jim Cash, and Jack Epps Jr.
The film slithers into U.S. theaters on Christmas Day, with a UK release following on Boxing Day, December 26.
