Ava Raine, daughter of The Rock, is stepping away from WWE.
The 23-year-old, whose real name is Simone Johnson, announced her departure Friday afternoon via social media, revealing that Tuesday’s episode of WWE NXT was her last. She’s been with the company since 2023, holding various roles, including in-ring competitor, valet, and most recently, NXT General Manager, a position that proved most successful for her.
In an Instagram post, Ava shared:
“This past Tuesday was my last appearance on NXT & subsequently WWE. Thank you to all who have cheered, watched, and supported me through my journey. While my decision to not renew my contract was very difficult, it’s also new turning point in my life. It has been an honor & a privilege to be Ava.”
The announcement comes months after her father became emotional discussing her WWE career. Last fall, the Hollywood star teared up while praising his daughter for carving her own path in the wrestling world. Speaking to MTV UK, he reflected on how proud he was that she never asked him to use his influence to advance her career, noting that he never received calls asking for favors despite being willing to help. He emphasized how raising an independent child who forges their own way gave him a profound sense of pride.
It remains unclear whether Ava will continue in wrestling or pivot to another career path.
