Malcolm Wilkerson is stepping back into chaos. Hulu has unveiled the first trailer for its long-awaited revival, ‘Malcolm in the Middle: Life’s Still Unfair,’ confirming an April premiere and signaling that the family dysfunction fans loved never really went away.
Frankie Muniz returns as the once-genius kid, now grown and seemingly thriving, until his past quite literally catches up with him. The four-part event finds Malcolm reluctantly reuniting with his family alongside his daughter after more than a decade of keeping his distance. In the trailer, he confidently declares his life is “fantastic,” admitting the secret was staying away from his relatives, a strategy that quickly unravels.
That unraveling begins when parents Hal and Lois, played once again by Bryan Cranston and Jane Kaczmarek, insist Malcolm attend their 40th wedding anniversary. Predictably, order gives way to familiar mayhem.

Nearly the entire original cast is back, with new faces joining the fold and series creator Linwood Boomer returning behind the scenes. Based on the trailer, the revival is leaning hard into nostalgia while asking whether Malcolm ever truly escaped being in the middle.
‘Malcolm in the Middle: Life’s Still Unfair’ premieres April 10 on Hulu. Will you be tuning in?
