Matthew Koma has officially entered the so-called “toxic mom group” discourse and he did so with biting sarcasm.
The musician and husband of Hilary Duff took to Instagram amid swirling speculation that a celebrity mom circle had fractured following an essay by Ashley Tisdale. Koma shared a satirical headline reading:
“When you’re the most self obsessed tone deaf person on earth, other moms tend to shift focus to their actual toddlers.”
The post appeared to poke fun at Tisdale’s recent personal essay for The Cut, in which she detailed walking away from what she described as a damaging mom group dynamic. While she did not name names, online speculation quickly linked the group to Duff and Mandy Moore, especially after social media unfollows were spotted.
However, a representative for Tisdale shut that down, telling TMZ there was “zero truth” to claims the essay targeted Duff, Moore, or Meghan Trainor.
Still, Koma’s post ensured the drama stayed firmly in the spotlight.
