
Microsoft has officially revealed the pricing for its new line of handheld gaming consoles, the Xbox Ally series, and the premium version will set gamers back nearly $1,000.
Developed in partnership with Taiwanese electronics giant Asus, the base model ROG Xbox Ally is priced at $599.99 in the U.S., while the enhanced edition, the ROG Xbox Ally X, carries a price tag of $1,000.
The Ally X will be available exclusively at Best Buy when purchased through third-party retailers, while the standard Ally will also be stocked at Amazon, Ant Online, and Walmart.
Both devices are set to launch on October 16, with pre-orders having opened on Thursday at 8 p.m. ET following the official pricing announcement from Microsoft and Asus.
As part of a U.S.-only promotion, customers who pre-order through the Asus Shop will be automatically entered into a sweepstakes for the chance to win an exclusive gaming bundle. Ten winners will be selected to receive the following:
- 1x ROG Strix Arion (external SSD enclosure, SSD not included)
- 1x ROG Raikiri controller
- 1x set of ROG Cetra Wireless earbuds (Black)
- 1x ROG Bulwark (TV dock/USB hub)
- 1x ROG Xbox Ally 2-in-1 premium case
Alongside the U.S. pricing, Xbox and Asus confirmed international pricing for the Ally and Ally X models:
- Europe: €599 for the standard Ally and €899 for the Ally X
- United Kingdom: £499 for the standard Ally and £799 for the Ally X
- Australia: 1,599 AUD for the standard Ally and 1,799 AUD for the Ally X
- Canada: $799 CAD for the standard Ally and $1,299 CAD for the Ally X
The new handheld consoles mark Microsoft’s latest move into portable gaming, expanding the Xbox ecosystem beyond traditional consoles and PC, with the goal of capturing both casual and on-the-go gamers worldwide.
