In an unprecedented move, the man formerly known as Prince Andrew has been arrested.
BBC News reports that Prince Andrew, now known as Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, was arrested Wednesday on suspicion of misconduct in public office, marking the first time a modern Royal has been arrested and representing a watershed moment for the monarchy.
His association with late pedophile financier Jeffrey Epstein has dominated headlines for weeks following the release of the Epstein Files. This morning, photos showed cars arriving at his Norfolk estate.
Thames Valley Police confirmed they are assessing a complaint over the alleged sharing of confidential material by the former prince with Epstein. Andrew has repeatedly denied any wrongdoing as he’s been pressed over his relationship with the late sex offender, which has come back under intense scrutiny in recent weeks.
King Charles stripped him of his royal title in October over his ties to Epstein, and he was forced to move out of his Windsor home earlier this month following the latest document release.
